A safe bet.

Named after the location of Conti’s HQ in Monaco, this Monte Carlo offers a grand vista too. The perforated back panel provides a view onto Conti’s proprietary boilers, which are made in-house. The main steam boiler also pre-heats water for espresso shots. Temperature stability is achieved with a smaller coffee boiler per group head. Set and volumetrically control the dose and temperature for each group using the barista-friendly buttons and display. And baristas can control steam pressure with a lever at each end of the machine.

The Monte Carlo has long been the hero of the Conti range thanks to its build quality and performance. However, consider the newer Ultima – which incorporates its practical features and powerful boilers – into a compact form, especially if space is at a premium in your shop. The Monte Carlo is available in two standard colours. Custom RALs are available on request, as are the special edition options which mix colour, materials and texture.

Shipping & Installation

Shipping

United Baristas Equipment Store ships to UK physical addresses. Free shipping is available on  products over £200, some exclusions apply and there are surcharges for some bulky and oversize products to remote regions. Any shipping costs are calculated at checkout.

Dispatch

Orders are dispatched as soon as practically possible after payment clearance. However, by arrangement, we can store purchased items in the UK warehouse until you’re ready to receive them. Tracking or delivery information is provided at the time of dispatch.

Lead-times

In stock products

In stock items are typically dispatched within two working days of payment clearance. We endeavour to keep the most popular products in stock.

Product options and customisation

Products that require bespoke assembly, customisation or manufacture have longer lead times. It’s best to order these items well in-advance as it is easier for us to store these items in the UK warehouse than it is to speed up customisation work or manufacturing.

Product options are typically completed within 5 working days. Comprehensive customisation work can take up to 50 working days depending on the complexity of the work and the availability of parts. If your item is being assembled or painted by the manufacturer, the factory lead-times apply.

Factory Orders

Orders that utilise production options, bespoke manufactured or not available from the UK warehouse are categorised as factory order items. These products are typically dispatched from the UK warehouse within 10 – 25 working days of payment clearance. Lead times vary by manufacturer, an overview is available. We will contact you with an expected dispatch date when you’re item is en route to the UK warehouse.

Bulky & Heavy Delivery

Bulky and heavy items are delivered palletised with a kerbside delivery service. Make sure you have the ability to move bulky and heavy items from the lorry into your premises.

Installation

United Baristas can install select items. Select the installation option at checkout to book this service.

Most products have installation requirements for electrical supply, water and waste. Installers are not able to perform plumbing or electrical work other than connecting the item. You can view the requirements on the product’s information page.

If you opt for installation, we will be in touch to arrange a pre-installation check. Assuming everything is ready, we will then be able to confirm an installation date. In many cases, the installer will bring the item with them to install.

Care & Maintenance

Cleaning

All espresso machines should be cleaned daily to prevent build-up of oils around the group head. This is typically done in-house as part of the shutdown procedure. Cleaning your espresso machine both improves the quality of your coffee and helps prevent wear.

Water Filtration

Water filtration is essential for espresso machines throughout the United Kingdom. Without adequate filtration, limescale enters the boiler(s) and components damaging the machine. None of the espresso machine manufacturers’ warranties cover damage from poor or inadequate water filtration. The right filtration cartridge depends on your local water quality and your volume of water use. In most cases your local engineer is best placed to make a recommendation and can install the system when installing the espresso machine.

When you have an espresso machine installed through Equipment Store we will either make a water filtration recommendation or connect you with the installing engineer in advance so you can identify a suitable option. Water filters typically require replacement two or four times per year. If you need to replace your filter more frequently, consider using a larger cartridge.

Specific care and maintenance information is available for this product. To view videos and documentation, follow the product link on the Product Information section.

Maintenance & Service

There are two types of service: front end service (in situ on premises) or a full service (undertaken in the engineer’s workshop).

Many businesses choose to alternate front end and full services, so a machine benefitting from bi-annual servicing would typically have one front end service and one workshop service each year.

Regular planned services are both cheaper over the medium-term and less disruptive to business operations.

Boiler inspections

Espresso machines require annual certification to comply with the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR 2000). Checks and certification can now be performed by engineers who have undergone training to become a ‘component person’. Many businesses coincide boiler inspections with a service.

Carbon Footprint

Embodied carbon

United Baristas is establishing a programme to address the embodied carbon in the products we sell. We’ll update this section when the programme is launched. Your purchase of this product will be included in the programme and helps us to start this initiative. Thanks for your support.

Carbon emissions from use

Usage is the greatest cause of a product’s carbon footprint across all stages of its life from manufacture to disposal. There’s a tendency not to consider these emissions if the primary focus is on cutting waste. However, in 2022, approximately 182 grams of CO2e were emitted for every kWh generated in the United Kingdom. Shifts to renewable and nuclear generation, we well as the phasing out of coal and gas generation, will reduce the carbon intensity of electricity over time.

You can lower your electricity consumption and carbon emissions by both purchasing energy-efficient coffee equipment and using energy-efficient practices. More information is available on United Baristas.

Maintaining equipment

You can lower the carbon footprint of this product by keeping it in working condition and prolonging its working life. You can source parts and find engineering services on United Baristas. From a carbon reduction perspective, it makes sense to upgrade when a new product’s efficiency is great enough to outweigh the embodied carbon within several years.

End of life

As many components can be recycled and precious metal recovered, dispose of this product responsibly and do not discard in general waste. Further information is available in the product’s manual.

Repair, Reuse, Recycle

Repair & maintenance

Parts for this product are readily available and can be replaced by an accredited engineer. Minimise wear with regular care and maintain programme. Basic care and maintenance should be carried out in-house. Regular servicing, parts replacement and repairs can be performed by an accredited engineer.

Reuse

Aim to maximise the working life of all coffee-making equipment. If you should no longer have need for this item, keep it in use by selling it to barista or coffee company on United Baristas Marketplace.

Recycling

At end of life many of the components can be recycled. Dispose of this product responsibly and do not discard in general waste. Specific information is available in the product’s manual.
